Had a lot of promise but just couldn't get the pill enough at AFL level. Maybe a change of club will give him a new lease on life. Good luck

We've wasted some first round draft pics recently - Lennon and now Ellis. Bolton looking all sizzle no sausage ATM too.

Bolts was a second rounder. First rounder went to gc for prestia

Can we throw in "steak Knives" Townsend and get pick 19?

Would like to keep Towner
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Has the club ever really given him a block of games where he played decent amounts of time in the middle?
He seems to play well at twos level in the middle and when he gets an opportunity in the seniors we play him out of position across half back.

I still think he can be a good AFL footballer but he needs to be played in the right position.

Good luck to him either way as apparently he is a ripping fella.

all the best to em.  I though Cory Ellis was going to go alright as well.  Would want to keep Towner unless we get something better for him.  He is not disposable, he helped win us our first premiership in eons, and he wasn't being carried.

Ironically for someone so slow, time & space seem to be ememy of CEllis....it's when he's in the thick of it with no time to think that he plays best and on instinct...when he's out in the open it's almost as if he freaks out that everyone's looking at him or something.... :shh

Be interesting 2 see what we can actually get for Ellis by trading him to GC.
Seemed to have talent but like alot of players we have had over the years good 2s player and not up to the elite level
