So obviously the Lynch situation has been finalised one way or the other.

Graeme Richmond would be turning in his grave at resigning Grigg I reckon. No where near ruthless enough if you want to stay at the top of your game.

Is that the same Graeme Richmond whose binary admin methods put is in a hole for 35 years and almost demolished the club?

Happy to keep them both on for another year. Have been great servants of the club and are transitioning into depth players.

Would like to see us phase Grigg out and get a younger/quicker/better kick into the side if possible...

Works from a team unity point of view. None of our premiership players have had to make way for Lynch.

Grigg and Houli still in our best 22 and a few players in line for dropping before we get to them. Houli has had his injury problems but apart from that both have kept up their form from last season. Have both earned new deals.

Houli might just hang on if he stays fit but look for Grigg to start getting phased out next year.... :shh

Naish might eventually play Houli's role but could also be an outside mid/winger, though he might not be his immediate successor...expect Grigg will either be replaced by another mid or even a genuine second ruck.... :shh

Do you think Lynch could do the ruckwork for short periods during a game?
Or even with Jack, just in our forwardline, with McIntosh through the middle and in defence with help from Astbury or someone in the backline?

An extra classy quick midfielder on the wing would help I reckon than another bits and pieces backup ruckman.

Unless you have a Max Gawn that can do more than just tap work, ruckman are overrated imo.

Yes but I'm hearing we'll be in the market for another ruck this off-season so I'm basing what I think one of the things that might happen, not what should happen, on that....if it's someone like say, Longer, I can't imagine they'd be coming across just to play more VFL... :shh

I don’t mind Longer but I think we have shown that unless Nank gets injured, we are going in with 1 genuine ruckman.
I think we just want an AFL standard ruckman to call upon if Nank does get injured.

I agree - and to answer your previous question re: Lynch , would be surprised if we saw much of him in the ruck next year if at all with his knees.....I'd rather see agile utility types like Balta, Moore or even McIntosh giving the chop out at this stage....also hope we start developing Chol as ruck /defender now that Max Gawn has effectively broken that mould since Lever went down.... :shh

After tonights effort hold off resigning Houli.

Was easily his worst game for over 14 months.

Need to see better than that to get an extension.
