Had a good run fellas
« on: September 21, 2018, 08:52:36 PM »
Can't be too upset boys.
We had a great run the last 2 years. We hadn't played like poo since that st kilda game last year and unfortunately we were long overdue for it.
Chin up, they'll be hungry next year.

Proud of the fellas, it's been a good year, shame we've wasted an 18 win season.

Buckley has orchestrated an excellent demolition of us.

All his tactics for the game worked.

Playing man on man was an excellent decision. Key matchups where they one all of them except Goldsack v Riewoldt.

An awesome display by the pies. I didnt see it coming. They killed us all over the ground.

They were faster than us. More desperate. Cleaner by hand and foot. Smashed us with more pressure.
Played us at our own game and won it hands down.

Sidebottom did anything he wanted.
Pendles was clean as a whistle didn’t get tackled ever.
Adams killed it in the middle. Smashed it with ferocious tackling.

Crips was unbelievable.
Brody Grundy was excellent. Killed it and his goal in the last was fitting. He just smashed it especially when Grigg was rucking smashing it 20 metres every time.

They basically did to us what we were supposed to do to them to win the game. Their midfield was that good it made us look second rate. We looked slower, clumsy, we couldn’t run or carry. They controlled the ball with precise kicking. We couldn’t out pressure them because he pressure was on us.

I know that many will say lwe were down which might be true. Certainly Dusty was down and injured a shadow of himself really. Looked cooked by half way through the first quarter.

But Collingwood were so good our boys were just beaten. Weren’t able to do anything we normally do.

Outstanding coaching. Excellent match ups. And the Collingwood boys executed the plan to perfection.

We were down. But only because Collingwood made us that way.

We were poorly coached today started at selection table can't take unfit players in finals.Match ups got wrong Rance on De Goery Grimes was the man.First half to slow to change things up and slow game down.

The run might be over this year but there are still good times ahead.
History is full of teams who have won 2 out of 3 .

Collingwood took us down tonight.  Well done to them as they were awesome. Not sure about this playing 1 game a month business. Sure it didn't matter last year - this year felt different.

Still proud of the club.

Pies were absolutely red hot and we came out icy cold, simple as that. Some of the early touches by Varcoe made it look like we were handling the ball wearing boxing gloves. They were so clean and we weren't. The other difference was that they piled on scoreboard pressure, they nailed every opportunity while we rushed everything and couldn't buy a goal early.

If you'd been offered these last two seasons at the end of 2016 would you have taken them? :shh

Will be back have some great kids in vfl. Freshen up the side a bit tho ruck experiment is over now need another second ruck forward and that's not Lynch either. We got found out this year for height.

Poor first half cost us the season I could live with the second half at least there was a bit of passion.Need to mix up our game plan a bit become to predicable never had a plan b or c.They tryed with Moore, but didn't give it long enough for me.

yes, just dont like gifting the scum a flag.

Not upset tbh just a little dissapointed but its a completely different feeling than losing those 3 finals. Will be quicker to move on after tonights effort as the future looks bright and hopefully its a future without conca and grigg
