been here a week now and must say, if i didnt have my kids and the tigers in OZ, i would not be returning home.
total different way of life here and its just a spectacular country, but the tigers do not live here , thus my return home is assured lol
anyway italians that know of afl and have seen some footage of the tigers mauling port, freo and the blues all think aussies are mad and this sport is too dangerous , lol, wimps!!!

and btw, without me saying a word to these guys about our players, guess who they all already worship

anyway today im about to hike/trek mount etna, and this morning all the tigress,s at catania beach were all hot! one 4 the guys, sorry gals, julz, moi and co, did not pay attention to the men.

driving here in this place is a nightmare, and if u can conquer this traffic, u can do anytthing!


anyway , must  go, will try log on whenever i can find a/a place with a pc and b/time

Actually I have been to Italy and loved it.  Great food and friendly men.  Are you going to Pompeii X?  Bit of an eye opener there   Capri is lovely too.

Agree Ana Capri beautiful.  Memories of travelling on the boat from Naples and travelling through smog all the way.  Wasn't until we were about 200 metres from the island that we actually saw it.  Blue grotto was good, views from the top magnificent and the villas, gardens, flowers sensational.  Beautiful place.

Amalfi coastline, the best views i've ever seen.

Moi, I saw a lonely planet doco on the Amalfi coast and it looks absolutely spectacular. That will be one of the first places I go to if I get to Italy. I love to hop on a Vespa and cruise the coast.

Rome - mad

Yeah it's a crazy place but I loved Rome. Everything basically within walking distance of each other and a mixture of different civilizations all in one city. Only downer was being prevented from entering St Peter's wearing shorts even though it was 35 degrees. My legs mightn't be the greatest but I didn't realise they were offensive to God  . Eventually got in the next day and climbed to the top where they have the names on the back of the apostle statues looking over St Peter's square just in case they forget lol. Great view.

Florence - you can easily get museumed out.

Pisa - the leaning tower is about all that's there. Did the dicky tourist thing of getting a photo pretending to hold it up.

Venice - nice place but bloody expensive. $150 for a gondola ride (you can split it b/w 6 people) compared to the Water taxis $5. Got the Water taxi  .

Similar thoughts went through my head at the time - for a Christian organisation to have so much obscene wealth when there are so many people in need as you said. In fact, there were lots of beggars in the streets - something i never thought I'd see in Rome.  It was eye opening to say the least.  Glad i took the three hour coloured line tour rather than the five hour one.  Would have been pretty monotonous watching one masterpiece after another lol.  Seen the Sistine Chapel and apart from thinking not much about it, was glad to see it anyway.

Rip off all right - not once did i get my bum pinched - they said it would happen in all the brochures lol

I was warned about groups of kids pickpocketing tourists around the Spanish steps and beggars but I didn't see any of it. I was told to avoid the University side of the city so maybe that's why. I have Italian in me so I think they thought I was a local. Had two Aussie girls from Perth walk up to me and ask if I spoke English .

I never went on a tour but we would jump on the end of one for a listen if we ended up in the same area as one. Rather go my own way so you look at things you like longer and skip alot of the rest. The catacombes (sp?) under St Peter's was pretty cool but agree the excess of wealth was sickening.
