Rate a Tiger's year - Jack Graham?
« on: October 15, 2018, 05:55:45 PM »
Next up is Graham.

Following his heroics of coming into the senior team late in his debut season and kicking 3 goals in the 2017 Grand Final, Jack played 18 out of 24 games in his second season of AFL to take his career tally to 23. He played the first 4 games of 2018 before being suspended for one match after an unsuccessful appeal. Jack returned in round 6 before being dropped prior to our Port Adelaide loss. He returned the following week in our round 13 win over Geelong but then suffered a shoulder injury against Adelaide and missed 4 weeks. Jack returned once again in round 20 versus Gold Coast and played in our remaining 5 games (including both finals where he only accrued 15 disposals combined).

Season highlights
* 20 disps (12 kicks 8 hballs), 4 marks, 8 tackles and 3 goals in Rd 23 3-pt win over the Western Bulldogs at the MCG (25 Aug 2018)

If 2018 is his 2nd year blues then I will be happy.

^^^ this

Also, hope people are patient and give him time to get over his shoulder reco. They can take a while to get back full range of movement

He is his own worst enemy. His pressure is so good that he is used too negatively by the coaches. He needs to be more attacking more often. When he does play that way he is actually very good as he is a very accurate kick.

Anyway, bottom line is he just needs to find the ball more.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Agreed YBB, has shown he is more than capable of hunting and finding the footy himself  - hopefully his role evolves next season and he gets more of it.  Gave him a 5, capable of a lot more

One thing tho he is to good of a player to do the defence jobs in our midfield.Dimma needs to unleash him give him more freedom to go forward because he can play.

If he can boost his disposals per game to 19-20 in 2019, he's on the right track.

We genuinely watch different players...... I cannot understand how you claim he's a very accurate kick. Very inconsistent IMO.

I'm watching Warnie and you're calling him an off spinner....

For the record, gave him an 8. Thought he actually came through with the goods second half of the season. Real shame he did the shoulder when he did as I felt he was on the cusp of stepping up into our top 10 most required players.
