Richmond has the best forward line: Dal Santo (SEN)

Dal Santo names the AFL's best forward line

By SEN
23 Oct 2018

St Kilda champion Nick Dal Santo says Richmond currently possess the best forward line in the competition.

The Tigers added Gold Coast superstar Tom Lynch to their ranks during the trade period to what was an already potent forward line set-up.

Dal Santo believes Damien Hardwick’s side have all bases covered in attack.

“They might have had arguably the greatest forward line anyway,” Dal Santo told SEN Breakfast.

“The way they get that forward line to operate – you go Tom Lynch, Jack Riewoldt, Josh Caddy, Jack Higgins, Daniel Rioli and Kane Lambert.

“I think that is the best forward line structure in the competition - it’s got talls, it’s got Caddy as that roaming third tall, it’s got forward line pressure and it’s got goal kickers.

“That is the best forward line in the comp right now.”

Richmond were the second highest scoring team during the home-and-away season in 2018 and had the highest percentage out of all the 18 clubs.

He might love us but his got no idea about our forward line given he’s missed Butler and Georgie boy

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Castagna needs to be reinvented as a Libba Sr style nasty little wog tagger - has the tank, pace and physical aggression and stops us burning Graham's talent in the role.....trade bait or delisting material next year otherwise.... :shh

Agree with this he won't be in our forward line setup to many blokes in front of him and just doesn't kick enough goals.Him in the forward line for me needs to change.

If you look at his B&F votes early in the season, George was on fire. Something happened and he went missing. Confidence or injury are the two factors that generally affect players.
He has many tools, but fair to say he has to maximise them.

Add pressure and aerial strength to bring the ball to ground. A key component in our forward entry strategy. See it wasn't that hard to think of others, was it?
Oh wait a minute. You couldn't

Had that knee injury (slight medial strain for memory) where he missed a few games. Never looked 100% after that.

Don't think the few weeks of the yips helped either
