Hardwick said fringe midfielder Jack Ross would get a chance at centre bounces in Prestia’s absence after struggling to settle into the side at half-forward or on the wing.

Source: HeraldSun.

Dimma added that he sees Ross as a long-term part of the footy club. So we've got to give him opportunities to show his wares in the positions we think he can play - sometimes on the wing and sometimes through the midfield. It will be combination of both. Dimma said he's a quality player and he's looking forward to giving Ross the opportunity as he believes we're a better side for having Ross in it.

Poor Jack Ross, last time he talked up a young player like that = "long term part of the Club" the kid never played seniors again and got delisted season end   :rollin

Not big enough to admit that by playing him out of position ie fwd wing  he has hurt his development.

Gotta ask though as a long term part of the footy club what outstanding footy attribute does he have Dimma that has you suggesting that.

Surprised at no tackles. I distinctly remember him being involved in a few over the day.

I actually want to mention Ross

I was peeved in the 1st when he refused to attack a marking contest. Stood there rather than taking the contact

But....

After that he was very good. So credit to him. Still don't reckon he should be played in the wing, he ain't no wingman. Might explain the supposed zero tackles

I'm with Jobba, I remember him being involved in a few contests that involved tackling. One happened right down in front of us (Ponsford end)

I thought he was good. Strong in the hips and great at keeping his arms free

Playing on the wing one wouldn't expect too many clearances. He was good and if he produces this level every week, i would be happy with this return.

He absolutely had a tackle. I remember thinking at the time it was a good tackle and it's one of his strengths.

Just a battler or at best decent foot soldier and im pretty sure he will never be any thing more.
Have to ask again what outstanding attribute does he have that has people talking him up so much. Anyone have an answer.

He is definately not the type you are going to build a side around. The type you would give up as the steak knives in a trade for a good player.
