Crap excuse.

Plenty of midfielders have been played in different positions over the years and flourished some even contributed until a midfield position became a more permanent position. We see this happen all the time.

Ross isn’t demanding a midfield spot. Too soft to play midfield and he’s a panic merchant. poos himself even on a wing. When I watch him play I wish we still had Brandon Ellis.

I could be wrong but they have played him out of position, To develop his engine and outside game.
He can play as an inside  mid and needs to be given a chance before he is put in the recycle bin imo

Hmm if that is the case id say someone is getting things awfully wrong.

We need to be competetive at stoppages to little is left to too few and they sure as hell don't see Ross as the answer and to be honest neither do i.

I tend to agree , he is not a quarter back or running winger and Cotch is cooked by halftime
His way of playing is similar to Cotchins and you wouldn’t play on a wing or at half back
We need someone to stop the slaughter in the packs

I think Ross has enough chances, but who else is there.

Our problem was everything in the middle from contested ball to clearance work to setting up stoppages to ruck work. Got belted everywhere in the last. I don't think Ross improves us that much.

But he sees ball gets ball and spectate when around packs. Cotchin has done that role in the past and without meatball who’s our extractors , maybe Graham but someone needs to play the role

His debut is still the best game I’ve seen him play. Agree with others here that his best position is as an inside mid which is where he played in his debut season until his injury against freo if I remember correctly.

Not sure Jack Graham is the answer either.
I have never seen him dominate contested ball or win a lot of clearances so checked out his career stats.
I think in a way Graham is part of the problem because he consistently fails to make decent contributions in these areas.

Says a lot about our midfielders' ability to win the contested footy right now that our rucks end up as our main clearance winners  .

It is very easy to quote stat's and I get that but every player has a role. Some roles are not about the number of kicks, handballs.....

When you hear coaches talk about specific players and their roles within the teams then I can assure you it isn't all about stat's, not even close

But I also get that doesn't suit peoples narratives so I will leave it at that

So tell us WP  what do you percieve Grahams role to be.

We use stats to confirm what we see. The talk was he doesnt win many clearances and the stats clearly back that up.
They actually show he is not overly inside but also that he is not overly great on the outside.

Here we are being belted inside and its not just about this week either and we play blokes as juniors who were good there in other roles. If its not the players fault then its the coaches.
There was talk of Graham being captain by some based on what? i ask.
