Stack is one who could go either way, but he's the next closest thing to Rankine on talent. A few cm shorter, not as damaging forward of centre. But through the midfield he influences games like few others. First possession winning, has the burst of acceleration at stoppages and gets around opponents with ease, has the skills. If he works, he can be better than Josh Thomas. Perhaps as a sub 180cm mid you'd like for him to develop the capacity to play more forward, but he's one where if he develops, he can be a monster. A poor man's Sam Petrevski-Seton is what I'd be hoping.

Is Edwards like with his hands. Great reader of the play in traffic and doesn't mind having a crack with the physical stuff. A mate has seen him box in a gym and reckons his hands are lighting quick. I personally think he will be more of a forward player early in his career with us and will be given time to transition into the middle of the ground.

I posted in the draft thread that I think he is a better prospect than Ian Hill.

My only concern on the highlights I have seen is that he makes quick decisions but not always good ones. Often wins the footy in a pack but often dishes it to the wrong option, a player under pressure. That could well be less of an issue in an AFL environment where set-up around contests and support from other players tends to be more predictable.

We've got to March 15 to sign him. IMO we'll take the full time to assess him to test his attitude and commitment and how he trains and fits in with everyone else inside the Club. If we're satisfied he's willing to be a full-time professional career footballer then we'll sign him.

Well the poster goes for collingwood so probably has NFI like the rest of them.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Here is Stack's WAFL profile and stats:

Those tackle stats at colts level are off the charts  :o. Decent senior level stats too for a young player.

I hear that unless these you boys have been through the private school system there is a very small chance of success.
Still would by happy for Sydney to prove them wrong

Goes from saying he’s the second most talented player in the draft to a poor mans sps real quick.

Couple of posters on BF reckon Stack's old man is in a pretty bad way - one said he was on his death bed in hospital and also  that Stack's been sleeping all day and been at the "cas" (Burswood Casino I presume they mean) every night......:shh

Casino's really take it out of you, no wonder he's sleeping all day.

From Big Footy :

Quote from: NZ_Tiger
Know him though a friends kid. So I’ve listened to what they’ve been up to all summer and was introduced in passing to him as Syd along with a few other local WAFL indigenous players. But never really gave it much thought.

Didn’t really click on him being Sydney Stack, until someone mentioned he was meant to be heading back to live with Hardwick a week ago but his dad was sick. Someone added that it was looking terminal.

His Girlfriend is apparently heading back to NT soon to start Uni.

I won’t ask my friend about him but if they mention anything I’ll keep you posted if I think it’s appropriate to pass on.
