Always a good sign when a player backs up a good game the week before. Another 22 possies tonight. Loving his mindset now to be creative and break the lines off HB to open the play while still working hard other way to be defensively accountable. One of our cleanest ball users by foot too. Well done Syd!

Geez I wasn’t even one of the ones who said to sack him and I still find this post annoying. I never saw anyone questioning his football ability. It was the off field stuff that was rubbing people the wrong way. While the rules he was breaking might have seemed silly to you, rules are rules and while his punishments set by the AFL and by the courts were harsh it doesn’t change the fact that he put himself in that position multiple times last year.

He wouldn’t be the first super talented young man who doesn’t live up to his potential due to off-field indiscretions and most certainly won’t be the last.

To his credit he has put his head down and won back the trust of the players/coaches and has been performing at a top level since coming back. I hope he can continue in this manner as I think he is an absolute gun and can be a great long term addition to our backline. This off-season will be a big test.

I was happy to let him go when he cost someone their job last year.

No egg on my face at all.

Last year he was an entitled little turd. I'm glad he's turned it around but let's not pretend like everyone knew he was going to get his poo together. He was a liability and a risk. I'm glad the club has worked with him this year.

And as I said previously, he needs to stay in Melbourne over the summer IMO. Keep him away from any family nonsense at home etc.

All credit to club and player for turning it around.
I think anyone with his background was going to be a risk at some stage and while we can’t put a ruler through it not ever happening again, hopefully he stays on the straight and narrow.

He is a star footballer in the making.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Your club's underrated performer of Round 21

Richmond Tigers: Sydney Stack
Everyone makes mistakes, and Stack’s have been ground out and whacked over his head enough that we don’t need to pile on here. However, let’s give out some due credit for some good footy. How good? The response is thus: 22 disposals, nine marks, eight pressure acts, seven contested possessions, five inside 50s, four score involvements and 73 per cent disposal efficiency. Well done, Stacky.

Sydney Stack is closing in on an incentive-laden one-season deal which will ensure he keeps on track with high levels of professionalism.

Talks are ongoing this week but a two-year deal he would have been keen to acquire looks unlikely.
