Tuck just a scrapper; Daniel Cross equal to Cogs - Brereton

The Doggies are happy to run the ball wide, and actually look dangerous when they spread opposition midfields. It may raise some eyebrows, but within league circles many deem Daniel Cross to be the equal of Mark Coughlan in ball-winning ability. And of course Scott West continues to keep finding the ball.

Eade's two shut-down targets in the middle will be Kane Johnson, because of his ability to find Richardson with foot passes, and Shane Tuck. A revelation last season, Tuck is a scrapper who kicks the ball long as a first option. One of those two players kicks the ball into Richo's domain every fourth time the Tigers enter their forward 50m.

Cross is a good footballer and we can't let him run around loose like he did in round 20 last year but Cogs has had more than one good year, is a B&F winner and was in the top 10 contested footy winners in the AFL last year even though he was coming back from his groin problem. Now that he looks like he has regained his kicking depth he'll be better still.

As for Tucky, guess who was on the Hawthorn board (I think football director too lol) when the Hawks let Tuck go  :rollin.
