Reckon Balta will debut early season

Ditto RCD and Aarts

We have a tendency to play rookies early in the season on the back of reasonable pre-season form

Interesting statement to make given we haven't had a pre-season match yet.

Though I'm sure they've looked good in match simulation at training :D

They train well..... :shh

Be surprised if token goodwill VFL pick Aarts gets a call up unless 3-4 of our small forwards are all injured or suspended at the same time....never looked close to AFL standard.... :shh :shh

I actuslly agree with you about AFL standard but going by history they done it before (giving rookies games based on the pre-season) so can see them doing again.

Interesting statement to make given we haven't had a pre-season match yet.

Though I'm sure they've looked good in match simulation at training :D

It has nothing to do with whether we've played any preason games. As per above history shows games have been given to rookies based on their form in the pre-season. Based on that and knowing the coaches for whatecer reason rate Aarts. I am suggesting there is a good chance he will get a game if shows what to the people who matter (read coaches) "good" form in the pre-season games he will debut

Clear enough for you  ::)

Oh ok, so you think those names will debut early in the season due to good form despite there currently being no form to go off....:shh

Very clear.

Very clear.

Is there or is there not some preseason games coming up in Feb / March?

Answer = Yes

So and this is clearly what you are struggling with IF Aarts plays well in those games then yes I think he is a good chamce of debuting early in the season. Because history has shown that it is very common for it to happen at our Club.

Balta was close to debuting back end of last season so i think of all the players on the list that haven't played yet he is most likely... thst is called an opinion

You never mentioned "if they play well".

Going off this I figured you'd meant they'd already somehow shown good pre-season form.... :shh

I get the feeling we are likely to blood either an inside mid or rebounding type defender early on.

Ross or Balta likely to get an early go for mine.

I am still baffled by the Aarts pick-up to be honest. We obviously had our reasons, but I think there were some pretty good players who missed out in the national draft who might have got a look in.

Was a goodwill pick to motivate our VFL-listed players and entice others to come across  ...problem is there were better/more promising players on the VFL list we could've given the spot to, like Mannagh or Ernest... :shh
