I have time for Judd as he has caused the Blues to bottom out for an extended period

You can't give him credit for that. He was just an instrument, it took the Blues to have all the off field pieces in place and totally focussed to achieve that. It is a team game after all.

First time this year our small forwards applied the intensity and manic pressure we've been wanting and it's paid off.

Bit of a dilemna I reckon....clearly this is still our one wood as the commentators fashionably say but IMO we need to keep Balta in the side even with Riewoldt back (and considering were not really playing another tall in lieu of Rance atm what difference does it really make anyway?)   and we need to start seriously weighing what Castagna's defensive pressure brings against how much of a liabilty he is in attack...better sides than Sydney will make us pay...to me Butler - as poor as he's also been is a good compromise...also not sure we can continue to keep carrying two short  players with a relative lack of pace in Higgins & Baker in the same side....Higgins is the better player but Baker is clearly playing the better football atm.....and we also have to fit Cotchin back in....  :shh

Tigers return to “Richmond-like” pressure

By SEN
21 April 2019

Richmond was back to its best in their [Saturday night] victory over Sydney at Marvel Stadium.

The Tigers accounted for the Swans by 22 points with the win made possible by their customary high-pressure game style which forced turnovers at every opportunity, much like the 2017 premiership season.

Midfielder Dion Prestia admitted it was a focus for the Tigers to get back to those harassing ways.

“I think they smashed us in clearances but it was how we were able to pressure them after that clearance,” he said on AFL Nation post-match.

“We used the ball through the corridor a lot better than what they were able to do.”

Asked which particular statistics the side values the most, Prestia maintains it is still the maniacal pressure the club has become known for in recent years.

“Ours would be our front-half turnovers. That’s really what we talked about,” he added.

“We knew they would give us an opportunity with those short kicks and we were able to expose it.

“We aren’t a high-possession team. It’s all pressure, pressure and having everyone get rewarded on the scoreboard eventually.

“The pressure from our small blokes is amazing. I still think we’re the best by a long way with our pressure.”
