With Cotchin now struggling with hamstrings we are going to have to find his future replacement. He has been a great player and leader. Its his role in the midfield that we need to find a player if quality. We havent traded for a top top pick in thd draft for a while. Maybe its time we started looking at what we can offer Adelaide for the first pick.

Adelaide won't be giving up pick 1, not a chance

Strong word is that they'll probably try and trade it to the filth to get Grundy but as I said - if they fail- we should be chucking the kitchen sink at them to get pick one and Rowell- kid's going to be be a absolute gun and looks ready to go....either way, we should be trying to get into the top 5 or  top 10 at least....the high end of this draft looks even better than last year's super draft but probably doesn't have the depth.... we need to add more top end young talent to our list IMO - we look to have been lucky with our picks these last few years but we can't keep having a 15 or even 10- 30 starting points at every draft and expect to keep striking gold or keeping up with the talent other clubs are drafting....get 'em in while they can develop under premiership players, established guns and good leaders...that's how you achieve sustained success..... :shh

Then we'll have better currency to trade for a top 5 pick... :shh

PEACE OUT:

Aiden Bonar looks set to return home at seasons end, and will request a trade out of GWS

The tough midfielder has found it hard to crack into the best 22 and rightly so, but has had opposition clubs offer him more senior opportunities

North Melbourne are favourites to land his services as it stands, closely followed by Carlton, Richmond, Essendon and Hawthorn.

North fans, would you like to see aiden in the blue and white?

Is that the same page that went on an epic rant when it started to break that Gaff was staying at W.C, calling out Tom Browne a poo stirrer, and finished by cantankerously stating Gaff was 100% signed, sealed and delivered to Norf?

3 weeks later after being utterly shamed, they handed out “grades” for each clubs trade period. They gave North an -A (they missed out on Gaff but signed 3 other jets in Hall, Polec and Pittard).

They gave Richmond a B (for signing the most valuable free agent on the market).

On a side note: we were super keen on Bonar at the draft 2 years ago weren’t we?

Ryder wants to be the number one ruck and is seeking a club that will afford him that opportunity.

Nearly 18% of Ryder’s hitouts have been to advantage this year, a number that Champion Data rates as elite. There are a handful of clubs that could use Ryder’s ruck craft.

CARLTON is set to target the recruitment of a small forward during this year's NAB AFL Trade Period.

The club's list management team has already started preparing for another significant off-season at Ikon Park, with a pressure forward high on its list of priorities.

Gold Coast youngster Jack Martin has been heavily linked to a potential move to Carlton, while Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti remains uncontracted at rivals Essendon.

Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott is one of this year's most prized unrestricted free agents, while Port Adelaide utility Sam Gray and Richmond premiership player Dan Butler are also set to come out of contract at season's end.

The Blues' first pick is linked to where Adelaide finishes on the ladder. So around pick 14.

Pick 14 for Butler would be highway robbery...would almost make up for their Yarran scam.... :shh

I am led to believe that Carlton would also entertain a straight swap of Townsend for Cripps...
