Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch has confirmed St Kilda has approached his manager.

Crouch, who hails from North Ballarat, is due to become a restricted free agent at the end of 2020.

"In my situation at the moment I haven’t had any contact with any clubs other than Adelaide," Crouch told 5AA.

"Like a lot of different players would have experienced throughout the whole AFL, other clubs can go to your management and say, even three years out of contract or in contract, and go 'is Brad happy? Would he think about coming to wherever for this and that?'

"That sort of thing happens all the time. That's happened to my manager.

"They (St Kilda) have spoken to my manager, but that's just 'How's Brad going?'. That's all it is.

"My manager said straight away 'Brad's enjoying himself at the footy club and just wants to play footy'.

Hopefully we can bring in another big name player for next year. Grigg gone already... Ellis, Butler, Townsend and a few could go as well.

The Pies have got a squeeze on ... They’re trying to push a lot of contracts out like Steele Siebottom and a number of big-name stars are being pushed out to four or five year deals to try and save some money for later.

Injury-plagued speedster Harley Bennell will meet with a Melbourne-based club later this month as he eyes a miraculous AFL comeback.

Bennell, 26, will undergo a second bout of surgery on his troublesome calves in a fortnight after specialists identified what they believe is the mystery problem that has cruelled his 83-game career.

I'd doubt it will be us.

We have replacements for Bellis, we need inside mids & KPDs before outside runners. :shh
