Trade week is such an overblown waste of time.  Radio boys must struggle with content particularly early on...
Disagree. Trade period is like the 12 days of Christmas for football tragics (like me).

SEN claiming Kelly will get to West Coast and Geelong will get it's wish of more than two first round picks in return.

West Coast to give up picks 14, 24 and a future first rounder. There will be some movement of 2nd rounders in there too back and forth.

American Pie was sung by DON McLean  ;).

So bye bye mister American Pie
A one hit wonder whose footy career turned dry
And poor old Treloar boy with Prelim losing cries
Singing this is another season that died
While watching another flag head to the Tiges

This whole draft period feels like we are playing the card game "Presidents and A-holes" .

The RFC are the presidents and holding all the Aces, the other teams are like getting excited about receiving a Queen or Jack.

It doesn't matter what they do - they're still getting obliterated.

That’s not more than 2 first round picks though. That’s 2 late first rounders and an early second rounder. From what I’m reading the pick swap will also be in favour of the eagles so no benefit there either.

Fair enough, I'm a tragic too but all day everyday is just too much.  Plus the footy journos just think their so important these few weeks.  Prefer the draft to the trading any day

They might get the next Billie Smedts.

I hope they do as well with them as we did with the Ottens picks

Tom Phillips to Richmond?  ;D

Nick Dal Santo: Richmond don't need a whole lot. They could go for a role player off the wing. They need a Tom Phillips type.

Sam McClure:
He fits the mold perfectly. Good defensive runner, great tank, neat 30m kick. Two A's for you.

Manager Alex McDonald on Tom Phillips

“There’s some media speculation. Some people have made some inquiries to me, but I need to get to the bottom of that. It happens at this time of the year,” McDonald said.

“He is heavily contracted for the next two years and finished seventh in their best and fairest. I don’t see any change there, but who knows. I’d imagine Collingwood has their hands full fitting everyone in with three big players out of contract next year.”

"The thing I like about Richmond, is they bring in quality players that are young. They don't go for players in their late early 30's to top up"

Tim Kelly officially an Eagle. Signed a six-year deal for $5 million.

West Coast get Tim Kelly, pick 57 and a 2020 third round pick.

Geelong get picks 14, 24, 37* and a 2020 first round selection.

* The Cats have acquired Essendon's pick No.37, with more details on the Bombers' involvement to be confirmed later. It is expected pick 37 will unlock Geelong's pursuit of contracted St Kilda midfielder Jack Steven, with the Saints to receive a second-round pick.
