He is. Especially his awareness by hand  :o. Much improved and would easily be in our bests today.

Surely we’ll see Naish at afl level in the next few weeks.

I hope butler doesn’t get an immediate recall even though it seemed like he was one of the best today. Needs a few weeks to really get the message.

RCD was disappointingly underwhelming

Apart from clearly being unfit, he looked a bit lost, timid & unsure himself- worringly reminiscent of CEllis....hopefully just a slow burner and not a slow learner... :shh

Yep, I thought he was excellent today.  So good at finding the ball in a pack & feeding off to a runner with a handball.  Really superb in tight spaces & in traffic.      :clapping

I only saw a little bit of the final quarter as Im stuck in dialysis. Who were our bests and is Miller improving at all?
It was a weird game. Messy for most of it until we broke the game open in the last 20 mins. No one had high possessions and we got most of our goals on outside transition rather than via clearances from our inside mids. Turner had the most possies (22) playing off a half-back flank.

For me Naish was our best as far as being next in line for a senior recall. Clean by foot in a game where most were sloppy.
Eggy, Garth and Beasley (VFL-listed) were all very good in defence and helped keep Port to just 7 goals. Eggy's improvement is quite astonishing. One of our bests today.
Butler took his demotion well and worked very hard including his chasing and tackling. Will be named in our bests. Whether he gets an instant recall will depend on how our small forwards in the seniors go today.
CCJ was decent. We dominated the hitouts with him and Soldo.
English got in our top disposal getters (14). Did a couple of neat things but made a couple of bad blues as well.
RCD played inside mid but didn't get a lot of it as you'd expect from a ballwinner in that position.
Chol is just plain frustrating. If he took contested marks like he did in the last 5 mins all game he would tear games apart. Just doesn't have that footy nous nor shows that physical aggression a big bloke should have all game.
Moore didn't do much aside from those two goals.
Aarts is at his level.

Miller did some nice things across HF. As someone else said perhaps a position for us to persist with him.

Gee lads, you’re putting a bit of mayo on Eggy’s performance. Whole egg
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Well he was hard(boiled) at the footy, scrambled for the loose pill and poached opposition kicks for the intercept. It was a cOMpLETTE performance. No yoke!  ;)

Seriously though, if Eggy keeps this form up he'll be in line for a senior debut. Especially with Rance gone for the year and if no one else can fill the void in our senior side's defence.
