ROBBO'S DISLIKE No.5: ACTING OR NOT?

Bachar Houli found himself in the abyss on Saturday night.

Full of courage to go back with the flight of the ball just before halftime, he was marginally touched as Caleb Daniel tried to spoil. Houli went to ground and put his hands close to his head to either accentuate the contact or trying to claim the mark.

Only Houli knows which one.

As for the free kick for high contact, Seven commentator Cameron Ling was unconvinced. “We see that a million times a game and they’re not paid,’’ Ling said.

Funny though, at the game on Saturday night I actually questioned whether he got clipped or not

It wasn't a good look IMHO

I actually thought Houli had held the mark.  He got two hands to it & was pulling it into his chest.  After the contact (which was light & glancing at best) he then put hands up claiming the mark (& IMO) was not whinging for a free ...
Its rare I know, but what are the odds of an umpire stuffing up a decision?  Should we blame the player for that & publicly slam him in a newspaper column?      :P
