If Soldo is rubbed out, who plays ruck?
« on: May 21, 2019, 02:50:40 PM »
Leppitsch joked the Tigers might have to bring back recent retiree Shaun Grigg to support young gun Noah Balta if Soldo’s suspension stood.

“We’ve got one more young boy, Callum Coleman-Jones in the twos, he is a second-year ruckman, so he is still really developing and very raw,” Leppitsch said.

“So that’s probably our only other option at this point in time.

“Maybe a Noah and a Caddy, I don’t know, Noah and a whoever. Bring back Grigga for one last game?”

I'd play Chol ahead of CCJ.  Based on the VFL game Chol is more ready

That sound logical
Essendon 2nd ruck
Has been Zac Clarke so no need to panic

Could be a blessing in disguise - the bummers would have taken a good look at soldo against the Hawks. thought he was good in the ruck but he was assisted with McEvoy going down early. At times I thought his follow up work was average at best, so the bummers would likely look to exploit that. Having a reliable tall to kick it to down the line is what we are missing with nank out. Hopefully lynch is fit enough to start playing up the ground a bit more to take those marks between wing and defensive 50.

I like it but it’s very glass half full. I love the idea of giving the kids a free crack at it but please don’t lose sight of the fact that  Bellchambers will kill us. He’s no champion but he is a seasoned ruck man.

I'm leaning more towards Chol now....more seasoned and he at least has the leap to make his presence felt in the ruck contest and be a nuisance...he also generally plays better and gets more involved when he does go in the ruck...reckon we'll go the Balta/Broad combo though, mainly because it'll allow the match committee to bring back Rioli without dropping anyone... :shh

Have you been watching AFL Jack? Essendon dropped Clarke last week and unless there's an injury I doubt they'll bring him back.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Chol looked better than CCJ  in the ruck v Box Hill IMO....tbh I mainly want to have a look at CCJ at AFL level just too see how he goes around the ground and up forward at this stage... :shh
