Thought Menadue wasn't that bad at all.
Agreed, was good imo

Yes he was good last night. Being played as a defensive forward which is not his go but playing his role very well.

I'm not Butler's biggest fan, not by a long shot. But how would you feel if you were him right now? He's been consistent in the 2's while Rioli has stunk it up in the ones. They both played reserves last week and Rioli got the nod this week, obviously because of what round it is.

Keep your head up son. You deserve a gig this week

Rioli was far from poor last night :shh

Soldo for CCJ
If Cotchin is fit Gathwaite should make way. Don't need a 4th tall defender against North.

INS: Soldo, Cotchin**, Lambert**

OUTS: CCJ, Menadue (very unlucky), Higgins (better last night but still lacking consistency)

**  = if fit

Disagree with Garthwaite. Our defence looks a lot more balanced with him there. We are not a tall side. We can't afford to get shorter. We were far too short against the doggies and they were a short side.....
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Rioli was far from poor last night :shh

I have only seen a TV replay of the game, but I didn't think he was that bad.

I thought it was actually quite a good game from him. Did a lot of little things and was a presence throughout. His stats certainly didn't portray the game he had.

He was below par, has been most of the year. Pulled out a few times but so did everyone's favourite Bachar Houli. Then again I forgot we only bag out one player at Richmond for that type of thing... :lol

In Soldo, Cotchin, Lambert
Out CCJ, Menadue, Rioli

Good week to start Cotch at half back. Keep Vlas in the middle.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed some of the peeweak defensive & contested efforts by Houli had a great game otherwise but Grimes, Edwards & Prestia would've  all been more worthy winners of the Yirooken,,,, :shh

Bellis lucky he made that tackle on Zaharakis - nearly cost us the game with what was up until then one of the most insipid loose- bowled individual quarters seen since his last quarter v Footscray last year that saw him deservedly dropped for the finals ....needs to get his act together -  big audition for him next week...:shh :shh

What would have been a 23 disposal game for Houli last year became a 37 disposal game last night due to kickouts counting as disposals now....:shh

I think Houli has been pretty good this year and I really don’t rate him that highly but I 100% agree his defensive work isn’t good and to be honest never really has been. He gets heaps of kicks and gives us good run but he needs to defend a lot better. He gets away with it against sides like Essendon but good sides like Collingwood expose it.

The worst thing I saw on Saturday night is on numerous occasions is he deliberately goes to ground when tackling and tucks his head in a way not to get hurt but he is basically out of the next contest if the guy he tackled gets a handball or the ball knocks free. It stands out like dis balls if you watch for it.

I know a bash Bellis but he does it too.
You watch a guy like Sydney Stack who is a baby in terms of AFL footy but as a natural tackler and defender he knows when he tackles, regardless of if he goes to ground, he needs to be in the best position to get to the next contest before the guy he tackled.

You watch guys like Vlastuin, Grimes and of course Rance and they all do what Stack does.

You guys getting into Houli no idea we all know his defence work is not great.Short memory of Jayden Short efforts when in defence or a few others even some of our seniors early on in the season weren't great.Without Bachar we would struggle with run out of defence.
