Richmond's season officially now a worry: Barrett
« on: June 14, 2019, 01:36:21 PM »
IF ... this season wasn't a worry before Thursday night against the Crows ...

THEN ... it officially is now. Three losses in a row, and a now-obvious inability to beat the best without their big names.

What a peanut it's not only the big names we have been missing some lazy journalists would be all over the pies with injuries so brave.

So one team with all its best players out injured has a "now" obvious inability to beat a team with all its best players playing

The only real obvious thing, is that this is another example of Barrett having NFI

How many clubs wouldn’t have an obvious inability to be competitive without 10-12 of their starting lineup missing, including 4 of their 5 biggest names??

We're missing 5 of our B&F top 7 from last year and 8 from our top 13. Equivalent spots for Collingwood would have them missing top 10 B&F Sidebottom, Grundy, Crisp, Phillips, Howe, Thomas plus two more from the next 3 B&F spots. Taking away both key backs would have them missing both Moore and Roughead. Losing their leading goalkicker would see DeGoey missing.

=1. Steele Sidebottom (203 votes)
=1. Brodie Grundy (203)
3. Scott Pendlebury (178)
4. Jack Crisp (160)
5. Taylor Adams (159)
6. Tom Phillips (134)
7. Jeremy Howe (132)
8. Jordan De Goey (127)
9. Josh Thomas (122)
10. Brayden Maynard (107)

1st         Jack Riewoldt, 81 votes
2nd        Kane Lambert, 68 votes
3rd        Dustin Martin, 66 votes
4th        Shane Edwards, 65 votes
5th        Dylan Grimes, 64 votes
6th        Alex Rance, 63 votes
7th         Trent Cotchin, 58 votes
8th         Nick Vlastuin, 51 votes
9th        Jayden Short, 47 votes
10th       Josh Caddy, 45 votes
11th       Dion Prestia, 43 votes
12th       David Astbury, 42 votes
13th       Toby Nankervis, 40 votes

------------------------------

We have so many out we could make a side from our injured players missing plus half a dozen add ons from our VFL side.

B:  Egg-Smith Astbury  English
HB:  Short       Rance    Markov
C:  Edwards   Cotchin   Turner
HF:  Bolton    Riewoldt   Pickett
F:     Aarts      Moore    Weller
R: Nankervis  Lambert  Ross
Int (from): Soldo, Townsend, RCD, CCJ, Miller, Grigg (ret.)

Barrett's got our season cooked if we don't get more than one injured player back to play next week.

IF ... at least two of Cotchin, Astbury and Edwards aren't fit to return immediately after this weekend's bye, after three consecutive losses ...

THEN ... the Tigers' season is done.

Who cares what this twirp thinks
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Over the next 3 weeks we should get back the following players
-Cotch
-Jack
-Nank
-Edwards
-Astbury
-Lambert
-Short
-Ross
-Markov

That is 8 walk up starts.
If we don’t make finals with that lot playing then we don’t deserve to.

Stack  Astbury  Grimes
Edwards  Vlastuin Short
McIntosh  Cotch  Bolton
Lambert  Jack  George
Caddy  Lynch  Baker

Nank  Dusty  Prestia

Ross  Broad  Bolta  Rioli

Emg- Townsend  Higgins  Houli  Markov

Then Rance slides into Broad’s spot in the side come finals time.

Must win next 2 by any means possible then start bringing in the reinforcements.
