In the Mix: Round 18

RICHMOND

Get them in: After failing to win his spot back, Josh Caddy (26 disposals, two goals) was named Richmond's best in the VFL. A growing group of small forwards are being kept out of the side, including Liam Baker, Jack Higgins and Dan Butler, with Baker the best-performed of the trio. Unlucky omittee Jack Graham was a carryover emergency and didn't play at either level.

Under the pump: Young defender Derek Eggmolesse-Smith fumbled at times during his second match (and first at the MCG). Mabior Chol played just 48 per cent game time in wet conditions, but other than that, it was a strong team performance.

Medical room:
No new injuries at either level, with Toby Nankervis still a couple of weeks away.

Verdict: Just the one change, with Caddy in for Eggmolesse-Smith, and Shane Edwards to move back.

Team whispers

SEN
17 July 2019

Richmond v Port Adelaide

Richmond ruckman Toby Nankervis is a sneaky chance to return this weekend after being upgraded to a test with the adductor injury tht has floored him since Round 8.

Josh Caddy starred in the VFL and would be a chance to return to the senior side, likely for youngster Derek Eggmolesse-Smith.

As for the Power, they could be in a world of hurt, with Ryan Burton (hamatring), Brad Ebert (knee) and Ollie Wines (thumb) all likely to miss with injury.

This opens the door for Xavier Duursma and Matthew Broadbent to return from the SANFL, while Dan Houston should also step back in.

Would've thought Stack would be the one to move back if Caddy comes back in. The only reason Sheds would move back if Dimma wanted to play Stack in the midfield.

Your info on the money again, YaBB  :cheers.

In other news from Punt Road, number one ruckman Toby Nankervis will play managed minutes in the VFL this Sunday against Box Hill after nine weeks on the sidelines with a major adductor injury.

"[Nankveris] missed a significant amount of football, and he'll be available for AFL selection hopefully next week against Collingwood," Hardwick said.

Not sure what the thinking is , maybe it’s a team rule, but Caddy should  be in

Has his form been that good this year?

Or should he just be played on reputation??

He will get picked in the side when he earns it again.

The forward line will be too slow with Caddy, Lynch and Jack. Dimma knows this.
