What did we think of Jacko's game?
« on: April 08, 2006, 05:45:20 PM »
He didn't get alot of it but as a forward he lead strongly and kicked a couple of handy goals in the first half when we needed them. Probably his best game for us so far. Maybe we have finally found his best position.

I think he did ok, snuck on and kicked a few goals. If he turns into a Mark Williams type player from the Hawks I won't be complaining.

Has a good competitive edge to his game.  Needs experience and to develop some confidence, particularly in front of goal.  Then we’ll see how good he can be.

Thought he was very good.

Gives the forward line a new look.

I thought that although he looks good as a forward, I'd still leave him on a wing or a hbf because I think his evasive skill and decision making are the stronger aspects of his game, he's a very cool head. Maybe use him as a pinch hitter up forward and see if you can get a quick 2 out of him, coz he doesn't strike me as a player that is gonna kick big bags.

Took some marks and kicked 2 goals.  Let's not get too excited yet.  His first mark came when he came on the ground and no-one was on him.  Another mark was on the midget Baker.  Don't hold high hopes for Jackson as he doesn't appear to have a football brain.  Hope I am wrong but calling it as I see it.

Jackson on Club Corner

* First time he's been able to kick a few goals at senior level. Comfortable in that role as he can use his pace on the lead. Hopes to stay there for the rest of the year. Said he needs to work on his goalkicking. If he had kicked those 2 goals (as well as some of his teammates) we could of got across the line.

* Now has confidence in himself which he didn't have last year. Can back himself to take a mark which gives the rest of the team confidence in him.

* Losing Will was a big loss during the game (Riewoldt had only 3 marks then got 5 in 15 minutes)

* Wallace's message - we wanted win so we're not there yet. We're not here to just please ourselves and our supporters. We're here to win.

* Travelling interstate puts us under pressure to play well. Need to keep that intensity up for the rest of the year.
