That was a mark wasn't it to Astbury?

Commonsense umpiring would have been to call a ball-up if he called it touched.
Common sense applies to any other team other than Tigers. Marked the ball and then immediately tackled, where was prior opportunity?
Astbury shouldn't have dropped it. That was why he was pinged. He should have just held onto the ball and hoped for a ball-up.
He didn’t drop it?!

He certain did drop it. Letting it go is dropping it

He was wrapped up for an eternity. Should have been a ball up prior to that. On other occasions umpires call an immediate ball up when in the same situation.

Watched the game on TV. Crap game, no other way to describe it.

4 points and no injuries, while giving Martin a rest, I'll take that, but...………

Short on notice. Thought he was pretty poor today in conditions that I would have thought suited him more than most.

Was I the only one that laughed a sigh of relief when Caddy kicked a goal from 2m out?

Grimes clearly touched the ball before Astbury caught it and Astbury was an idiot for not taking the tackle and then trying to dispose of the ball..... :shh

Astbury was tackled before he had it, and even though he did the right thing by beating McGovern for position, was wrapped up and held it in like he should have for a long time. A slow motion replay showed a touch but pretty disgraceful decision to pay that free kick in that moment, in the wet when they hadn't been paying them all day. If McGovern took the ball in the same situation it never would have been paid (if they didn't cheat and pay the mark). Felt like a genuine evener-uperer.

Second half was dire stuff.

Edwards, Graham, Prestia and Vlastuin a class above the rest.

All our small fwds were poor/avg but can’t help but think it was somewhat down to our falls not bring the ball to ground enough.

Is it me or does Liam Jones always do the job on Jack? Weitering was also decent on lynch but he was let off the hook with some dropped marks and sprayed shots from Tom.

Rubbish - he needed to stop dead and/or drop at the knees and just cop the tackle... instead he tried to break free and dispose of the ball - dumb, low-percentage play that got what it deserved... :shh

^^^^this..

It was dropping the ball, holding the ball or incorrect disposal

Take the ball, not move and it's a stoppage try and take 5 paces and you've had prior..

Silly stuff
