August 8, 2019 12:55pmDon’t look! Students from Trinity Catholic Primary helped Richmond star Kane Lambert avoid nasty trolls yesterday.
The pupils sat through a session with an Alannah & Madeline Foundation eSmart teacher and Lambert to learn about safety online, bullying and how the internet can be a tool for good.
“We talked about keeping your personal things private and only sharing things that are safe and you’d want your mum to know about,” Lambert, 27, said.
Later, armed with lessons about online safety, students Yen, Claire and Kia shielded his eyes from what opposition team supporters were saying about him on the internet.
“Sometimes it’s a little bit difficult to avoid, particularly after a poor performance,” he said.
But he said if negative comments persisted, young people should tell someone, much like he tells his club.
Richmond will dedicate its match against Carlton to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation on Sunday.
More than $14,000 has been raised through the match with donations taken at
www.amf.org.au.
