Former West Coast utility player Jeremy Humm has been elevated from Richmond’s rookie list to the primary list.
The 23 year-old, who played 22 senior games for the Eagles from 2001-05, replaces Will Thursfield, who has been placed on the Club’s long-term injury list after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament and medial ligament in his left knee during last Friday night’s match against St Kilda at Telstra Dome.
Thursfield has undergone a major knee reconstruction and will be sidelined for the rest of the 2006 season.
“As much as it’s a shattering experience for Will, it has opened up an opportunity for Jeremy to put himself up for senior selection,” said Richmond’s Football Operations Manager Paul Armstrong.
“His training and attitude around the place since joining us late last year has been outstanding, and he deserves his crack at senior level with us.”
