Seems Langer is going to stick with Burns because Warner and Burns are averaging 54 runs as  an opening partnership. Problem with that stat though is Warner makes the bulk of those runs. Pucovski is the one in red hot form making runs compared to Burns.

Yuck.

Burns should be there for depth.

Warner hasn't been great lately either but has a boatload of runs on the board.

I want to see Pucovski. Form is everything.

Agree.

Smith and Labuschange have been covering up deficiencies in our top order. We need in-form batsman against the Indian bowlers.

We've hit back with two quick wickets including Kohli. India 3/80 off 10 overs. Hazlewood has all 3 wickets.

Aussies won easily again but Warner looks to have a groin injury and may miss the first test.

That would open the door for Pucovski to debut in Adelaide.

Harris was the only one today of the potential first test openers to score some runs for Australia A against India A.

Harris  35
Burns    4
Pucovski 1

That hit to Pucovski's helmet/head was nasty. Concussed straight away and he was down for a while.

Looks like injury has made the decision for the selectors. Warner & Pucovski can't play so it's Harris & Burns to open in the first test by default :-/.

Only choice now is if Green plays ahead of Wade.
