The changes from R17 when we last played GWS. Graham missed that game too. Pickett gives us an extra mid this time around.

The Giants have gone taller and effectively replaced Coniglio (who was injured by 1/4 time) with Kelly. They also dropped Hill who kicked 3 goals last time. They've gained De Boer too.

The difference last time was we had an even team performance (all but Soldo had double figure disposals) while they relied on their mids (Greene, Whitfield, Taranto, Hopper and Perryman), four of which had 30+. Greene had 34 possies plus 2 goals.

RICHMOND

In: Nankervis, Baker, Caddy, Pickett.

Out: Chol, Eggy, McIntosh, Stack.

GWS

In: Kelly, De Boer, Mumford, Finlayson, Aiden Corr.

Out: Coniglio, Deledio, D.Simpson, Bobby Hill, Matt Buntine.

I'm shocked Whitfield has gotten up. I've had appendix removed and I reckon it was 4 weeks until I could genuinely exercise fully again. I'm not AFL fit but decent enough that I can't see how the improved fitness would halve the recovery time of a surgical procedure. Davis looked lame af during the week. You can't bring in injured players to a GF.
Go Tigers!

Very hard to do match-ups in our forward half. I had to move Dusty forward to so we had an extra marking forward. They are putting out a tall side. Lots of guys 6' 2" to 6' 4". Clearly their tactic is going to try keepings off and maintain possession by short passes and marks. Similar to what Collingwood did to us in last year's Prelim and in Round 2 as well as what they did in Round 3.

Alternatively, they can be exposed at ground level with pace if we get our transition in a wave of numbers going. Lynch and Jack need to force the ball to ground if they can't mark it and our smalls George, Rioli & Bolts need to be front and square and apply closing speed defensive forward pressure to crumb or force forward half turnovers. Some low dirty ball F50 entries wouldn't be a bad thing either when facing a tall defence.
