Engraving of the Cup
« on: September 29, 2019, 02:29:44 PM »
In 2017 the engraving was IMHO a really poor standard job. Can the club actually fork out some money and get this cup properly engraved. The clubs premiership trophies need to engraved properly and looked after. Lets hope this cup doesnt do a tour where what it represents got disrespected like what happened in 2017.

The existing engraving looks more centred this time with respect to the gold leaves.

I was actually referring to the engraving of Richmond on the 2017 cup. It was really poorly done. Hopefully
They will go as better job next time.

Good to hear, the 2017 cup looks like it was banged in by a year 9 metalwork student

At a glance it looks like they have shifted the Richmond imprint a smidgen to the right. I think this aligns better.
The spacing is more even on the 2019 and more in line with the spacing between the preexisting text.
This confirms Ramps theory that the 2017 cup was knocked in by northern suburbs panel beater.

Probably a Geelong or Norf supporting panel beater.

does anyone know if its even possible to fix the engraving of RICHMOND on the 2017 cup. Comparing it to our 2019 engraving the 2017 cup engraving is a disgrace. The guy who did it must have been peeed when he was engraving it. It irks me that our drought breaking premiership cup looks terrible because of the crap engraving job.

There are better photos out there of each and the 2019 is streets ahead in terms of placement and engraving quality.
