Richmond Football Club have informed players Jacob Townsend, Callum Moore and Connor Menadue they will not be offered contracts for the 2020 season.
Townsend began his career at GWS where he played 28 games before being recruited to Richmond in 2015. In 2017 he was a part of the Richmond Premiership side and also won the J.J Liston Trophy presented to the Best and Fairest in the VFL competition.
The forward played 20 games during his four seasons at the Club.
Richmond List Manager, Blair Hartley, thanked Townsend for his professionalism both on and off the field.
“Jacob is an outstanding young man and a well-respected player within our group, he leaves the club as a premiership player and life member. We wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”
Moore joined the Club as a rookie at the end of 2015 and played 8 senior games for the Tigers.
“Unfortunately Cal missed a great deal of the season with an ankle injury but came back to play a great finals series in the VFL. The growth he has shown both on and off the field during his time at the club is a testament to all the hard work he has put in. We wish him well and have no doubt he will forge a successful career in the future”
Menadue, 23, played 39 games during his five seasons at Richmond. A former Western Jet, Menadue was recruited to the Tigers with pick 33 in the 2014 AFL National Draft.
“During his time at the club Connor has become a popular member of the playing group,” Hartley said.
“His work ethic on the training track and his professionalism is second to none. We thank Connor for his time at the Club and wish him all the best for his future career.”
