Summary

* It's a good time of the year for coaching where you're trying to improve again. Players are hungry.

* AFL provides a sense of help. Proud to be apart of the SOO game for such a good cause. Going through the lists you realise how talented the competition is. Challenge is do you pick the best players (aside from KPPs it's a team of mostly mids) or the best team (best player per position).

* From our guys - Nank, Prestia & Houli are not yet where they need to be to play but they still want to put their hand up.

* King said Foxsports has produced a behind the scenes doco of our Grand Final win. Will be shown soon.

* Rance - Dimma said Alex has always been his own man with his family and faith. We always knew this may occur sometime down the track. It's why we've been big on developing an environment that people want to be apart of. It's something Dimma learnt out of 2016. Alex's happiness is at the forefront of our minds and if he is happy with his main focus being his family and faith then we will support that. But sometimes minds do change. There's an NBA player who recently came back after a similar sabbatical.

* We copped stick for the lack of social media comment but that's not how our club operates. We are all about connections. It's one thing to send a txt message but it takes courage to actually call someone and speak directly to them to form a connection.

* Dimma asked what would he say to the new senior coaches starting out this year?
- Now is very different to when he first started (in 2010). Laughed about times when fans were leaving at quarter time and him wanting to join them.
- A number of the new coaches were caretaker coaches late last year when the pressure isn't on you as much. The art of coaching is to try and capture that "caretaker coach" freedom now. To capture it and have the players playing with that freedom.
