$50 donation program to help RFC in 2020
« on: March 18, 2020, 09:53:47 PM »
Our club has done well financially but we like other clubs are going to get hammered financially this year.
Clubs with money are the ones who will have success. I have my membership for 2020 but I can afford to chuck in an extra $50 as a donation to the club. Would others consider supporting this type of program?

Sorry, no.

My membership packages total a large amount and I'm not going to get value for the outlay (appreciate it is not the club's fault) this year

Simply cannot afford anymore

Unless the entire comp goes under, the big clubs like ours will survive and I for one look forward to a 12 team comp. and what should be a higher standard of football... :shh

Are we being refunded for reserve seat members?

Refunds are currently before ACCC as part of a private mediation as to what the AFL do here.
No doubt there will be some form of compensation for members - I’d just decline the refund request as a way of helping the club

Better to wait and see how it all unfolds. If the club needs money later in the year or even next year then sure l would be chipping in. We are in a sweet spot list wise hate to waste this opportunity.

The AFL are expecting this from members and probably this is a smart assumption

well il be asking the afl for my afl membership dollars back. They can get stuffed. The RFC can keep all the money for my club memberships from this house, even if i dont see a game.

understood the club will lose $50 of that so yep should i get that back from the afl would chip in ramps.

The afl will survive and if they think they can gouge us year on year, then expect a handout in their time of need well they are kidding themselves.

Calling afl today. I suspect il get the answer they wont be refunding at which point il head straight to the ombudsman or lodge a accc complaint.

Individuals and their families are more important than a footy club that is flush with cash.  The government will back the AFL.
People can do what they want but now isn't the time for me to be giving away cash to large cash generating businesses
Just my opinion.

Wonder how much money the club will be losing on those leisure centres now? :shh
