Wallace on 3aw
« on: April 23, 2006, 01:47:18 PM »
Wallace was interviewed on 3aw at 12.30pm shortly after arriving back at Tulla.

- He always had reckoned it would take 7-8 rounds to see where every team real is at. We had 3 of the better sides in the first 3 weeks and apart from the bullies game we'd been mostly competitive.

- Simmo was very good for us. He trained lightly during the week as he had some fluid in the knee. That's why we brought in some ruckman to spread the ruck workload around.

- On Cogs: we had matched him up against the opposition's best midfielder in the first 3 rounds but last night we freed him up to just go and win his own footy.

- Richo was great. Wallace had been pleased with Matty's efforts so far but he hadn't kicked as many goals or held his marks as he would have liked. Last night he did all that. When the game was to won and the lions got back to within 7 points, Matty stood up and put his stamp on the game.

- Wallace agreed that the great Brissy side was slowing down for leg speed. We thought if we could stay with them for a half we could then out-run, carry and overlap the footy in the second half which is what happened in the third quarter.

Edit: - Wallace also mentioned how he was meeting Browny's surgeon and the medical staff. Many non-medical people have given their opinion so the club wanted to sit down with everyone tomorrow and discuss what's best for Browny going forward.
