https://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/2007/051420070526.html Winless coming into the Dreamtime game in the horror year that was 2007, the Tigers lead by 3 goals when Richo kicked his 4th at the 17th minute mark of the last quarter. The Bombers responded kicking the next 3 goals in 5 minutes to have the game in the balance with just minutes remaining. Enter the umpires and a new push in the back interpretation just introduced. With the ball kicked into the Richmond F50, Richo holds off the backing back Bomber full back Mal Michael to take the mark, play on and kick what would have been the winning goal. However, Richo is pinged for a push in the back and then penalised 50m for being demonstrative towards the umpire. The penalty results in the winning goal to Essendon instead. 12 years later that 'interpretation' is scrapped by the AFL rules committee to enable more goal scoring. Richo by now a footy TV commentator notes the irony.
ps. The match was also the debut game for Jack Riewoldt.
