Feel for Mrakov. Not a like for like

We lose/drop 2 players with speed and replace them with 1 (Edwards)

I’m assuming Astbury comes in to free up Grimes to be that 3rd man into a pack. Less accountable for a key defender and can hopefully take a few more intercept marks.
This line up will work well if we play the taller forward lines but I wonder if we’d go with the same backline if we faced a Collingwood forward line in the finals.
Perhaps Caddy goes back to his 2017 role as a marking option up forward? Can’t seeing him having an influence anywhere else. Gets a week until Lynch returns.
Shedda and Chol are a like for like swap for Ivvy and Bolton.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Markov was always going to come out when Dave came back. The other 6 defenders are locked in best 22.

You'd think they would've at least let Markov audition for his potential new club... :shh

They've been interested since last year... they were kind of banking on getting him as a dfa this year....dunno if they'll trade for him... :shh

I think we should look at Caddy  on a wing again.
I was skeptical last year with that experiment but he delivered in spades.
Was solid in the QF v Brisbane with 2 goals And equally important in the PF v Cats 13 poss.
Not to mention his game in the GF.

I know he’s not blessed with speed but he somehow doesn’t let that detract from his contribution to the team and link up running we saw him utilise in the Finals last season.
He definitely has the runs on the board come finals. I wouldn’t be disappointed if he replaced Pickett in a wing.
He brings toughness, midfield competence and also goal sense.  He also brings the sometimes necessary lip to get into the opposition heads when it’s needed.
The club that keeps giving.
