What’s your gut telling you about the GF
« on: October 21, 2020, 08:54:07 PM »
What’s your genuine gut feeling about the GF result, I’m a bit numb but in others years I thought we had a good chance. I think we match up well, but I wish I had that confidence I had in other years.

Same as every GF since 1980. Alternate between expecting the worst and hoping for the best. Then when we are 10 goals up with 15mins to play relaxing and enjoying the rest of the game.

Beaten there once in 12 years.
The ground is better suited to our game plan than theirs.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

2017 - I was just so happy we made the GF. Winning it? Unbelievable
2018 - WTF?? We were the best H&A team by far. Could not bring myself to watch the GF.
2019 - Fully expected to win.
2020 - I just don't know. I was worried last week. 50-50 game.

50:50 but I think one side will blow it apart and win by 30 plus. Just I don't know which.

My gut says we have this one sorted to be honest.

Won't stop me being nervous but I'd give us 2:1 odds easily.

If we play our pressure game for a whole four quarters we will be very hard to beat.

If we don’t we will be allowing the game to be played on their terms and they’ll be hard to beat.

Our pressure and system is a winning combination it’s the Richmond way.

Quality opposition + contrasting styles + Geelong will be switched on to perform well.

I am really confident that our best is very hard to beat. The only time we lose is when we go away from what works for us or the opposition takes it away from us.

I am confident but waiting to see how the game starts. Really wanting to see that we are on although I expect Geelong will probably start better than us.
