Saints jumper doesn't suit him.

Saw him on Ch7 news tonight

Just found myself doing this  :facepalm

Think it is for the best he is gone.
"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

More low IQ interviews?

Agreed I found them cringe worthy.

Commentators used to just have a giggle at his simpleness but likeable + youthful enthusiasm.

I went to a function with my at the time 9yo daughter

The speakers were Jack Riewoldt and Jack Higgins .. Bianca was a huge Jack R fan , most kids are Dusty etc , well Bianca was Jack R

The two guys were alone at one stage and I took Bianca over to meet her idol

“Gday Jack, this is Bianca. You’re her favourite player and she’s so excited to meet you”

Reply - “Good choice Bianca” ... Jack proceeds to walk off .. it was a 0/10 and pathetic

Jack H is standing there and watched it all unfold and saw Bianca was upset. He proceeded to get down on a knee, have a chat and joke, rustle her hair and give her a high five. Shook her hand when going etc.

He was MAGNIFICENT. It was that boyish cringeworthy stuff at its natural best. Just awesome.

Wowsers what a damned shame to hear that about JR. Stuff like that can crush a child.

It's one of the things I always loved about Richo who was my childhood idol. Was always so sweet and had some time. Although I met him when I was about 23 and could hardly speak I was so star struck haha.

Great story about Higgins and good on him. Hope it made Bianca's day.

Jack R has alway struggled at functions, you can tell he hates them. He argues with me before I say hello-
No excuses to treat a kid poorly but don’t take it personally as  I reckon his head struggles with functions
I was disappointed to see Jack Higgins go as I reckon he had a lot to offer on and off the ground

Deledio also had no time for supporters. Anything that involved his time without payment was beneath him.

Yeah well known as a DH. I was a bit shattered when I found that out.

Reckon there are plenty of blokes who would be genuine legends though. Namely guys like Grigg, Houli, Astbury, Edwards.

Tuck back in the day :(

Bianca presented Grigg with his jumper when all the kids give out the jumpers and he was fantastic .. was the pick of the bunch and she still wears a signed jumper with “6” on the back

Grigga came and took training a few years ago and one of my kids under 10’a footy sessions. Agree, he’s a cracker, wish we could get him back from the Cats as he would be perfect to replace Fly
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

The vast majority of our guys are rippers.  I've seen Astbury having kick to kicks with the little ones during the breaks in the VFL.  Lambo, Cotch, Prestia, Vlossy even Rance were all great with the requests for photos etc from what I saw.  Riewoldt and Deledio the only recent example of tools.

Jack Higgins (two goals) looked sharp across half-forward in his first outing as a Saint ...

... and former Tiger Connor Menadue had little impact.

Higgins had 24 disposals and kicked 1.3 tonight.

Butler also kicked a goal but was fairly quiet.

Cost the Saints the game with 1.6 missing several sitters from set shots including one from 35 out straight in front with 1min to go.

Played very well but his kicking is ordinary.  Lacking confidence.
