He's in the Suns best 22 so 3rd rounder under's.  Not sure why we continue to be Mr Nice Guy in trades. Was pick 50 - 6 years ago and we trade him for about the same pick after developing him.  Would have been much happier with a future second rounder.
Higgins will be the interesting one, contracted, first round pick. What will we get....

GC couldn't have given us a future second round pick even if they wanted too....

This was always going to be the make or break year for him. He showed signs but I guess not enough to convince the club he was worth retaining. Who is Houli's replacement now?

Not a good deal for me. Natural replacement for Houli.

Geez Geez some of you are ridiculous.

Would bet 95% of this forum wanted him delisted end of last year and halfway through this year you wouldn't have given a rats ass if he was traded/delisted.

Yeah, sure, he played some decent footy when he came into the side. Personally I'd rather see him running around than Houli at this point but he's really achieved stuff all and a pick north of 35 is his worth

Disagree. Next year will see who right. Will seriously consider taking him in my Supercoach team when he is with Gold Coast. (and cheap)

Certainly not saying he won't go on to play good football. But right now GC are offering up a fair market value.

I'd hang onto him for another year too but he wants to go and the club will facilitate that for him. Bit of a shame but

Markov's flaw is he can be easily pushed off the ball. He needs to be fed the ball with space in front of him to use his straight line speed.

Receiving a future 3rd rounder isn't unexpected IMV.

You just described Houli, the only difference this year and going forward is opportunity.
Markov if fit will play every game for GC next year and if Houli retired, he would play heaps of games for us too.

I think there may be an unwritten agreement between the 2 clubs still over the Lynch deal.

The guy played 23 games over 6 seasons, only 6 this year and was out of contract.....not sure what some of you were expecting. It doesn’t matter what his place in their team is, we picked up nank for a third rounder and he slotted in as our number 1 ruck straight away.

At least he went for something, I remember a time our fringe players were worth nothing or were picked up by other clubs for free in the draft

Would have walked as a delisted free agent anyway - so better to get something rather than nothing at all.

Dodo at Essendon would have asked for Matty Rowell and dragged it out!! :)

Thank god we are not like that in trade week!!

I was one who wanted us to draft Markov and was pleased with the pick. 23 games in what 5 or 6 yrs enough is enough already.

Good that GCS see something in him and are willing to give him a crack its also good that we at least got some sort of compensation for him.
