Callum Twomey says the Dogs #23 and Pies #27 are definitely on the market for pick swaps.

Richmond has been actively trying to bundle up picks to move up the draft. As far moving higher up or into the inside of the top 10, it's unlikely we'll see any movement by any club given the talent available early on in the draft.

Geelong has agreed to delist Charlie Constable to make him available to other clubs as a Delisted Free Agent.
Should he not receive any interest elsewhere, there remains a possibility he will be re-rookied by the Cats.

Brayden Sier has been delisted by Collingwood.

Hawthorn has delisted Oliver Hanrahan. GWS and St Kilda are considering him as a delisted free agent.

Collingwood forward Josh Thomas has retired.

Disappointing he left when we backed him and developed him, he would have been regular in the seniors next year imo
The only comfort we got our pick back -time to move on

Could do a lot worse than grab Sier as a DFA... :shh

EDIT: That's not to say that we should :shh :shh

Dogs sold 17 for a 500-600pt gain.

Offering them 38+40 is like 70 points. Not sure they'll go for it unless there are zero other offers.

Victorian clubs have been alerted to the go-home desire of top-end draft pick Fischer McAsey.

McAsey, the No.6 selection in the 2019 National Draft to the Adelaide Crows, is considered almost certain to request a trade back to his home state at seasons end.

The 196cm key position prospect from Caulfield Grammar hasn’t settled in South Australia and also has personal family reasons for exploring a move to a Melbourne-based club.

Clubs are eyeing Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs' picks in the 20s as ways to move up the draft order via pick swaps.

Clubs are able to complete pick swaps until November 15 and then again during the NAB AFL Draft, which is a two-night event.

The Pies have a plethora of picks – No.27, 36, 46, 48, 55, 58, 78 and 79 – equaling 2215 draft points. If a bid came for young midfield prodigy Daicos at No.1, the Pies would need to pay 2400 points, and if it came at No.2 they would have to match it with 2014 points.

It leaves the Magpies with plenty of options with their first choice No.27, including trading it for a future selection and restoring their place in next year's second round or even creatively trading it before matching the Daicos bid and then coming back into the earlier stages of this year's draft in another deal.

Essendon is among the clubs interested in pushing up the draft board using future picks and had been eyeing the Magpies' pick 27

It is almost certain the Magpies will offload pick 27 so that it simply doesn't get eaten up by the matched bid for Daicos.

The Dogs are in a similar position with Darcy.

The Dogs have picks No.23, 43, 44, 45, 52, 93 after the trade period, which are worth a total of 2148 points, enough to cover a bid from pick No.2 onwards.

But, like the Pies, rivals still expect the Grand Finalists to move their first live pick – No.23 – for either a bundling of later or future selections or a mix of both, with Geelong having been among the clubs to have been interested during the trade period.

Richmond is another club who could package up come of its selections for another earlier pick, while St Kilda has also been on the lookout for more earlier picks using future selections to pay for its Next Generation Academy pair Marcus Windhager and Mitchito Owens.

After pick No.9, the Saints hold picks 62, 66 and 67 – worth a total of 272 points.

Would we offer 15 & 28 to Saints for 9 & 62?
Would the Saints do that.   1592 points v 1789
Would leave us with 7, 9, 26, 38, 40, 62 & 83
Then trade 38, 40 & 62 to pies for 27

Go in with 7, 9, 26, 27 & 83

Analysing every club's trade and free agency dealings

ESPN expert Chris Doerre has broken down the free agency and trade period, and what they have gained/lost ahead of the draft.

Adelaide        A+
West Coast    A

Richmond

Grade: B+

Rationale: The return of pick 38 as an end of second round compensation pick was a strong return for depth ruckman Mabior Chol who joined Gold Coast as a free agent.

The addition of Robbie Tarrant solidifies Richmond's defence and adds a suitable low-cost short-term replacement for the retired David Astbury. While Richmond would have liked to have retained Callum Coleman-Jones, given the four-year deal offered by North Melbourne, Richmond received fair value, the pick combination improving the Tigers' draft hand.

Carlton        B+
Collingwood B+
Geelong      B+
Melbourne   B+
Brisbane     B
Essendon    B
Hawthorn    B
W.Bulldogs  B
Sydney       C+
GWS           C
North Melb. C
Port Adel.    C
Fremantle   D+
Gold Coast  D+
St Kilda      D+

RICHMOND'S 2021 TRADE GRADES

SEN
16 October 2021

Matt Rendell says:

Losing Mabior Chol and Callum Coleman-Jones puts a heavy reliance on Jack Riewoldt and Tom Lynch.

Mind you, they did win a flag with Riewoldt and five smalls, so it might not worry them that much.

With Robbie Tarrant coming in, could they play Noah Balta forward? I’m giving them some flexibility there.

Losing an up and coming forward isn’t ideal. They do get Ivan Soldo back to strengthen the ruck stocks.

Cross.

Ins:
Robbie Tarrant

Outs:
Mabior Chol
Callum Coleman-Jones

2021 draft hand:
7, 15, 26, 28, 38, 40, 83

Rendell’s scoring system:
Three ticks = Super job, fixed a hole
Two ticks = Did well, but didn’t kill it
One tick = Just filled a gap
Cross = Did nothing or did not do well
