Star Richmond draftee Tessa Lavey will miss the Tigers' last game for the season due to Olympic training camp commitments with the Australian Opals.

Lavey – who had only one season of junior footy behind her before this year – has impressed with her athleticism and her booming kick, averaging 11 disposals in a hard-running role.

Fellow Tiger Alana Woodward will not play an AFLW game this year, with a calf injury having now sidelined her since January.

AFLW Tigers looking for consistent finish.

https://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/887501/aflw-tigers-looking-for-consistent-finish

--------------------------

Sarah Black's preview from AFLW site

* After winning four straight games, the young Bulldogs ran into some of the more experienced sides of the competition and have slid out of finals contention. The return of Kim Rennie to pair with Celine Moody should overwhelm the undersized Tiger ruck Gabby Seymour, while Izzy Huntington's still in the running for leading goalkicker.

* Friday night marks the first time these two sides have met, with stars Monique Conti and Katie Brennan set to renew acquaintances with the team they sensationally left at the end of 2019. Brennan is also in the hunt for leading goalkicker, while the Tigers are in good form, having won two games on the trot.

* Tip: This will be quite an intriguing battle with some of the young stars of the competition on show. The Tigers are in better form and could just scrape over the line. Richmond by five points.

Cordner mistake kicking back into the defensive corridor. Looked like she mistook a Bulldog's player for a Tiger as we had no one anywhere near where she kicked it to.

Dogs straight out of the centre for another.

Good transition from the wing stoppage. Frederick tap to Brennan and Bernardi. Ends up with Stahl goaling against the breeze  :gotigers.

Great kick by Stahl to Bernardi 45 out. However she kicks into the woman on the mark and the Dogs just so happen to have a free player run off the bench and they rebound for a goal the other way.

Bulldogs player lands right on Conti's back in the tackle yet the ump pays HTB :facepalm.

Poor defensive play with just 30 secs to go when we had the kick-in by the point post. Goal to the Dogs right before 1/4 time.

We go forward from the centre clearance but there's a free to the Bulldogs and the siren goes.

Quarter time

Richmond   1.0-6
W.Bulldogs  4.0-24

Dogs dominated the first 10 minutes with all the inside 50s. We finally got a few F50s via the clearances & transition (foot skills were good 70% eff.). However unforced errors and not being awake defensively as a team cost us soft goals on the rebound the other way. 3 of the 4 Bulldog goals came off our turnovers.

Wakefield to Brennan 50 out. Goes to the hot spot. Wakefield toes it for a point.

Been loose defensively allowing the Dogs to counter and exit out of the front of contests.

These umpires :facepalm.

Anyway Seymour takes a good mark. We get it to the hot spot. Scrappy but Brennan gets a goal  :gotigers.

Ordinary footy by us keeping it in our backline but no excuse for that joke of free to the Dogs. Gifts them a goal. These umps are totally clueless :facepalm.
