Happy for myself, but there have been tears around the place with a few not getting picked up.
All great kids and i'm sure will find work pretty quick - but sad for them just the same.
Not a nice thing to happen, but i reckon all the parties have handled the situation very well. 
Very open, very accommodating, allowing the unions to get on board, spot on with their entitlements etc, etc, etc.

I'm lucky, but you do hear some horror stories about this kind of stuff, and i'm glad i've worked for a company that when faced with a position like this, treats its employees as human beings and not numbers 

I'm sure Stephen Mayne would be very disappointed to hear that

Yes I have been though something like this and I know it can be scary. In six years I worked for three different Mulitnational companys without even changing jobs. With each change came the threat of being put off. It didn't happen to me but it did for some and there were many tence months.

Anyway you got through it and I am sure handled yourself well in the tough times.  Well done

I think you should wear a nice dark skirt with a white blouse and jacket - neat and trim. 

Maybe even a uniform could work - take away that individuality and competitive dressing
