Looks like we got through unscathed.

Fire away with your changes, if any?

Lynch may need a rest. Doesn't look fit to me.

Although he was OK in the 2nd half I'd still be dropping Aarts

IN: Ross

OUT: Aarts

We need a second ruck. Bring in CCJ!

Pickett still takes on a full roller coaster of emotions with his typical 1 good thing following by 1 bad thing on repeat however I was quite impressed with how he competed in the ruck.

With Vlas and Prestia still out I don’t think there will be any performance based changes it will just be whether they want to bring in another ruck like CJ to combat Gawn.

If they do I’d probably think it would come at the expense of mansell who was solid in his second game.

No change for me.

I also disagree - thought he was very good myself.

Agree with your sentiment re: Gawn. Pickett won't cut it. Mind you his goal was quite awesome from 50m.

Don't see Dimma making any changes after an 86 point win.

Lynch may need a rest. Doesn't look fit to me.
Seems Lynch takes a while to get going every year. It was roughly this time of the year in 2019 that Matty Lloyd called Lynch a "liability". At least Lynch is taking a key defender or two which is allowing Jack off the chain.

I want to see him lead more it’s very frustrating when he doesn’t.

Dimma looked angry after the game. Either from the umpiring or a player or two. Will be interesting.

There is real need for changes imo.
After an 86 point win why is that i can hear people ask.

Quite simple, there are players getting a game who we just would not miss. we would win with them or with out them.

Then there is areas where we are very thin on for cover and there is also a need to get games into promising players who will be asked to play in prominent positions. These blokes are not going to wait around forever to be given a chance.
An awful lot of our better players are not going to be around for ever ever either the cover for these blokes that is the players who will be asked to take over need games into them for when they are asked to take over.

I know this is all about a balancing act i just feel we are really at a stage where we need to be doing more in this area.

An example would be this week CC-J second ruck with good time up fwd.
Would keep Castagna and ask the likes of Bolton and Edwards to spend more time fwd then giving the opportunity to young mids like Ross and RCD. Would not hesitate to drop Aarts and Rioli to facilitate this because i believe we will win with or without those two.

In CCJ , RCD or Ross
Out Mansell , Aarts

Tough on Mansell but we are a mid short and need a second ruck now , or at least for the next couple of games...

Does CCJ play enough in the ruck in the vfl?

I’m not sure he does.

Would he play more than 35% of game time in the ruck at AFL level right now?

He wouldn’t have to. Nank will ruck 70-80% of the game. CJ is just there to give him a chop out.
