INS: Prestia, CCJ

OUTS: Mansell, Rioli or Naish (Houli lucky he had a shocker but Dimma won't drop him), and Ross as the sub

Dimma said post-game that it's unlikely any of our A-graders will be back next week. Maybe Shane Edwards but that's unlikely.

I would bring in CCJ and use Mansell as the sub. Ross needs full games in the VFL.
Balta needs to stay in the defensive half as Astbury is looking very slow at the moment.

Given what Dimma said in press interview I get the impression there will be no changes however it would good if CCJ was brought in.

Lions a tall side with 3 big talls up forward won't allow Balta to move. They play with 2 rucks Nank needs support and we need Pickett in the guts.I hope Dimma not stubborn.

I know that some are looking at giving him as rest but I think Mansell down back is his best position at the moment because he has a bit of spice in his game and he hates losing.
With our full compliment of defenders available down there we have the flexibility to use Vlaustin in the middle for a little bit and even move Houli on a wing but for some reason the coaches don’t like to use Houli on a wing. I don’t see why when he can just be free to run up and down using his kicking inside f50 and he wouldn’t have any issue knowing how to help out the defence.

I personally don’t think it’s a good idea dropping Mansell but I would definitely bring in CCJ or Chol for some better team balance. Caddy needs to get a game against Brisbane’s bigger bodied experienced mids because we need some age appropriate bigger mids, I’d play Pickett as a centreman or ruckrover but definitely not a ruckman. Caddy also adds the option of playing up forward if things aren’t working properly up there.
So the two I’d drop is Rioli because he needs to learn to get involved more and more consistent much like his last quarter effort against GWS. Unfortunately Ralphsmith has to make way for Caddy but only because it’s a better team balance not because he did anything wrong on Saturday night.

Outs: Rioli. Ralph-Smith
Ins: Coleman-Jones (or Chol) - whoever deserves it more and tackles more, Caddy.

B:  David Astbury    Noah Balta     Dylan Grimes

HB: Nathan Broad    Nick Vlastuin    Jayden Short

C: Kamdyn McIntosh   Marlion Pickett   Bachar Houli

HF: Jason Castagna     Tom Lynch     Jake Aarts

F:  Callum Coleman-Jones (or Chol)   Dustin Martin    Jack Riewoldt

R:  Toby Nankervis      Liam Baker         Jack Graham

Int: Rhyan Mansell    Patrick Naish  Riley Collier-Dawkins   Josh Caddy

Emg:  Jack Ross    Maurice Rioli Jr    Daniel Rioli Hugo Ralphsmith

Yeah don't quite see Mansell as a vital cog when our best back six are all fit...far more pressing issues further up the ground atm... :shh

EDIT: Hinges on where Baker too I guess...

My point was that in defence Mansell allows more versatility for Vlaustin and Houli to possibly play on occasion elsewhere considering our deficiencies in midfield.
I don’t think Mansell is currently suited anywhere else
