The fact is a half time free kick count of 20-6 when we were ahead or at least even on the score board and leading the tackle count tells a significant story. All these stats being thrown up about behind in possessions, clearances and hardball gets have little bearing on the outcome of games for us and we’ve shown that for 5 years. As everyone keeps saying, it’s not the ones paid against us (although I thought these last few weeks there have been plenty of very soft or even non existent frees paid against us). It’s the lack of obvious frees that go unrecognised.
