Illegal blocking off the ball
« on: June 21, 2004, 09:24:58 AM »
Dont know how many of you guys seen it at the game, but Carlton have taken over as the team that are leading the way in illegal blocking of the other teams defenders.

All night when they had the ball outside 50 and were looking for a lead, other players kept trying to block Ray halls run at fevola and Whitnall got 2 of his goals from Campo blocking Bowdens run at the ball also.

There needs to be a crack down on this as it is more than 10m off the ball and is deemed illegal. I am currently on hold waiting to talk to KB about this.

Interesting to note that when Stafford put a "hip 'n' shoulder" on some Carlton bloke in the third he was penalised for sheperding off the ball :-\

Another great example of the consistency of the umpires >:(

The umpires of today are all nerds who struggled with personal relationships at primary school.

Unpires should be ex footballers, end of story.

That's a scary thought Ox - can you imagine Duncan signing up to be an umpire next season. he can't keep up with the game now - got no hope of doing it as an umpire

 ;D ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
