How bad was Lambert since his injury this year?  Looked like a complete spud out there tonight

garbage. Soft cap please.

check out swans assistant coaches then compare our duds. Better still have a look at the cats panel. Cap doesnt seem to be an issue over there. Then compare it to these duds.

Andrew McQualter. Assistant coach, midfield/offensive.
Adam Kingsley. Assistant coach, midfield/stoppage.
Xavier Clarke. VFL & Development coach, forwards.
Ivan Maric. Ruck coach.
Sam Lonergan. Development coach & VFL midfield.

Its clear leppa held the glue together for this team.

Dimma thought well who needs him we have X clarke and mcqualter.  :lol :lol

That's my point how they can retain quality  yet we can't ?.

Does anyone else see that our zoning the whole ground is the problem?

Well one of many with poor skills, forward system …

I suspect we felt we didn’t need Leppa, because he doesn’t look like someone that was cooked.

Those 2 assistants I mentioned are rubbish. Going from truck caracella leppa to those 2 is like going from Miranda Kerr to  Aranxta Sanchez

Big issue is the change of game where we can't cause forward turn overs.

With the stand rule and also the larger goal square we can't pressure the crap out of sides and get turn overs which was our main source of scoring between 2017 and 2019.

Our game plan and system needs a review, not thrown out completely but may need to shift some players to put another feather in our cap like ball users in midfield as out distribution is average, always has been but with chaos ball and the amount of time the ball spent in our forward half it didn't hurt us but this year we have been destroyed as we can't force turnovers with uncontested footy gone up massively.

It's almost obsolete....it's clear the AFL are trying to contrive a return to one-on-one footy but so far in their typically hamfisted way all they've succeeded in doing is turning the game into a hybrid of kick-to-kick and netball..... :shh

We had to cut 3 million out of footy department spend. In our case the bubble breach fines meant we had to cut deeper

So people had to go

Contracts are funny things. If you flick someone who has one you have to pay them out. It goes into the cap

McCrae and Leppa were both out of contract, the others weren't. Exactly what do think we should have done remembering they had cut out $3 million?

I would think it's obvious that if all of them were out of contract then who stayed and who went would have been different

Caracella left the year before because he got a mega offer from the Bombers. McCrae got an offer from Hawthorn

I would Absolutely love for the 3 of them to still be there but I don't think it is a simple as saying why didn't we retain them

Didn't our football department buy a couple of players a $100,000 souvlaki up in Brissy last year?
Maybe there was a better use for that money?     :P

So then you go to the remaining coaches and tell them to take a hair cut.

No one can tell me it was purely leppa who wanted a “break”

We most likely offered him peanuts as we just won a flag.

Our coaching panel has been exposed, and is on full display.

Have you ever considered that Leppa put his hand up to go, so someone else didn't lose their job?

I have a fair idea what your response will be but just consider it for a minute

Think I'm supposed to add one of these  :shh or one of these  ;) at this point

Welll no because from all reports he needed a “break”. You may know different then those reports are wrong.

Trust me it won’t happen again next year, or we are going down further. What we have left is vfl standard.

the Hawks spend more $$$ on McRae obviously a better offer than ours and the Hawks need to pay for a Clarkson that won’t be there next year.

They like Sydney & Geelong don’t seem to have the same soft cap issue that WP seems to go on about.

If we are to pay over the cap we pay the tax, so what? 105,000 members who have stuck fat which is significantly more than the next best Victorian club but WP thinks we don’t have enough money?  :rollin
Every club lost money except for us last year and all of a sudden we are worse off than these other clubs? Why? What are these clubs doing that is so special they can get quality assistants and even hawthorn can afford to pay out 1 million for Clarkson.

You are aware that since June there have been no crowds in Mleb and before that capped crowds. You do understand that no crowds mean no dollars from gate receipts.

So that is a major revenue hit.

Our other non pokies revenue comes from Aligned Leisure. You know gyms? Those things that when we are in lockdown aren't allowed to open?

And yes we made a profit last year, helped by over $10 million (checked & confirmed) received via job keeper. That won't be there.

So despite having 105k+ members we will not be generating the same revenues as last year so yes there is a gap.

Didn't think it would be that hard to workout  ::)

I'll leave it there. There's more i could say but I wont
