Should Browny forget about 2006?
« on: May 17, 2006, 04:25:28 PM »
Brown will resume raining again next week in his halted return from a broken leg. "If everything goes right, we would hope to see him back in two to three weeks. If he is getting a bit of loading, maybe three, four or five weeks," Wallace said of Brown.

If Browny's going to miss another 5 weeks then even if he feels no more pain he'll probably need a couple of weeks at Coburg to get back into the swing and build up match fitness. That would make it something like round 16 before he is available at the earliest. Should him and we just forget about 2006, get the rod out now if that's medicially okay and just let him get himself right and in no pain to play next year?

Well I am sure they'd love to see him at Coburg  ;D :thumbsup

It's a tough one - I would wait and assess after the mid-season break. If by some miracle we are 7-6,  8-5 or better yet 9-4  ;) :pray then I'd still bring him back around 16. If we are 4-9 or 5-8 I wouldn't bother

i dont see a problem with him playing in the second half regardless of our position as long as he is at no risk physically.

If he is right to go then play him, doesnt have to be in the ones.

I am sure Coburg would appreciate him playing a half or two with them. Should bring a few more through the gates.

I think he should be focussing on coming back in 2007, so he can get himself in the best position to play 2008, 2009 etc.
Get the rod out now and not flirt with getting more muscle soreness.
I'm sure that's what the doctors have told him, but he wants to play.  I understand that, but i'm thinking he would like to play a lot more games and play well.  I'd be wiping off this season and trying not to do any more damage to his leg.

I agree Moi. If the bones have healed fully, take the rod out and let him comeback painless with a proper preseason under his belt in 2007.

LOL. Coubrg wouldn't mind a lazy 5 goals from Browny in one quarter.

We can only hope so Ox. Watching Cisse in top form for Liverpool in the FA Cup on the weekend gives us hope of a unaffected comeback (bloody Gerrard  :scream).

From what the Club has said, they reckon that if he doesn’t go through all of this muscle soreness now, he will have to go through it later anyway.  So, as long as there isn’t a great risk involved in letting him train and play this year, whatever work he does now will hopefully prepare him better for next season.  This season pretty much seems like a lost cause for him anyway, so he might as well go through it now and get it over and done with, ready for 2007.
