Richmond's Tyler Sonsie has been sent direct to the VFL Tribunal for striking in the VFL. Graded as intentional, severe and high contact with a base sanction of 5+ matches.

No way it's worth 5 games.  3 probably, 4 maybe.

How's the North bloke? Only reason I'd give him more than 3 was if there's a severe facial injury
I work in Africa and they were taking the pee out of me for saving Africa.......

Only could find this, AT.

Tom Cappellari, who gathered 18 disposals and played a hand in several scores, went down late in the fourth quarter following a head-high strike from Richmond's Tyler Sonsie, but has pulled up well.

The North player clearly made it look worse. He should play soccer with that drama.

5 at least. Can’t except violence as being accepted on field and off.

As an aside

If the hit was so bad

capillaries would be concussed and unable to play next week??

You'd be arguing that it was severe.

Punching someone is no longer a part of the game and should be dealt with harshly. Boasting about doing it shows zero class and perhaps those posters haven’t lost a loved one to a coward punch
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

It wasn't a "coward punch"  - he didn't blindside him they were facing each other - also doubt it was his intent to actually chin him but to push him the chest but he stuffed it up - still an idiot for doing it though.  :shh

I don't think it should be 5 weeks, 4 max IMHO

But it appears the way the rules etc are written it will be 5 weeks

Let's hope we got past Wildcard round and he can serve some of it via the VFL

Reduced from severe grading to high impact.

Only ended up coping 3. Take it and run.
