Ely Smith had some wraps on him in his draft year. Went around pick #20

Anyone know if it’s a mandated 1 year or 2 year deal for selections from the rookie draft?

Gold Coast is interested in bringing Dan Hannebery out of retirement, per SEN's @Sammy__Edmund 😮

Hannebery, who retired this season after an injury-ravaged four-year stint at St Kilda, is reportedly considering a return to the AFL.

On the surface seems like a ridiculous move, given he cant get out on the ground with those dodgy legs.

Yep it was a disaster for the Aints. Don't see why GCS would consider it at all.

Only posting this because we've been linked to him in past years.

“Quinton Narkle has some interest out there but he might be one of these ones that has to wait a little bit until after the rookie draft to see what clubs pick up through the national draft and how many spots they have.

“It’s all about age and fit. Do you look at these guys to be ready to go players, like Narkle would be?

Appreciate the initial disclaimer.

No no no from me.

With our trade ins we have absolutely no spot for a battler like Narkle.

Was going to say I wouldn’t mind him as small forward depth with potential to roll through the midfield too as beyond MRJ, cumbo and Bolton our next in players in that role seem to be limited to juddy clarke and Castagna. However looking at his stats for the 2021 season where he played 16 games (the most of his career), he more or less ranked average or below average in every category relevant to a small forward.

Don't think he's a forward at all though? Plays inside mid.

Can't say I've seen enough to make a judgement but I'd rather have kept RCD personally.
