There is a fair bit more to the game than work rate getting a bit of ball for one. FFS he is playing on a wing and gave nothing but a bit of hard running. When he did get his hands on the ball he often fumbled.

This is the Rioli debate all over. According to most Rioli did not have to touch the ball his pressure was enough. Well hello its not enough a good winger works both ways has good pace has great footskills and has a well balanced game both offensively and defensively.
Atm we get neither but wait he runs hard all day.

No way you'd be playing Prestia with his history.  I'd give Jack another week due to playing at Marvel

Miller for Grimes although Miller very stiff thought he was OK.

Not sure how bad Dow is but leave him in if fit.
Ross for Cumberland or Sonsie maybe??

RICHMOND stars Jack Riewoldt and Dylan Grimes are expected to return for Sunday's clash with St Kilda, while youngster Thomson Dow has avoided a nasty knee injury from last week's win over Greater Western Sydney.

But Dion Prestia (hamstring) is set to be another week away from selection, while defender Nick Vlastuin looks more likely for a round five return from his own hamstring injury.

There is a way to keep Miller in the team. That is something i think is important moving fwd. ATM we only have the one big bodied key defender in Tarrant as a regular. Lose him and then what.

As good as Broady has been for us so far this year i think he would absolutely kill it playing on a wing for us allowing Grimes to come into Broads spot and we can keep on pumping games into Miller.  Imo it is worth a try if it means getting games into another big defender.

Think Ross was terrible so just bring in Collier-Dawkins.

Castagna kicked the one goal but fair dinkum just about everything else he touched turned into disaster he was putrid. Play Cumberland ffs.

Play sonsie even as a sub instead of Aarts.

And agree if Dow is fit then leave him be.

Blokes who should be in the gun imo are Graham and McIntosh.
If we go two Ruckmen then i would not be rushing back Riewoldt besides Parker probably did enough.

I would also like them to shuffle it around to find a way to get some more games into Mansell. But that would be a bridge too far atm.

Team Tips:

At the time of writing, it seems more unlikely than likely Dustin Martin will return to the side. Dylan Grimes was withdrawn from the side due to soreness but should be fit for Sunday’s game. There were no injuries for the Tigers on the weekend, so the only changes would be on form. Thomson Dow and Ben Miller are the two on the fringes, with Matthew Parker doing enough on the weekend to keep his spot in the side.

I.loved our forward line setup with Bslta and Lynch wouldn't be rushing Jack in we look more mobile and dynamic.Only concer is smalls in our forward line. Agree got to find way to keep Miller in he will get better with games and with him Gibcus and Biggie showing signs that's a great spine.

In Rioli Jnr, Grimes and RCD
Out Aarts, Ross and Castagna.

Don't rush Jack in. Hopefully Dow can play.

Grimes and Dow trained fully today. The main training session is Friday morning so we'll see how Jack goes then and if he does full training.

Make Jack the medical sub.  Break in case of emergency.

In the Mix: Round 3

Callum Twomey
afl.com.au
30 March 2022

Dylan Grimes was a late omission against the Giants after pulling up sore following training last week, but is expected to be back to face St Kilda this week, while Jack Riewoldt is also due to return after thumb surgery. Grimes will likely take the spot of Ben Miller, who came in as his replacement against the Giants. Thomson Dow was substituted out of the game in the last quarter with a knee issue for Jake Aarts, who could retain his place in the selected 22, but Dow is also a chance to be passed fit to play which will make for some tight selection calls for the Tigers.

Verdict: Grimes and Riewoldt in the 22 for Miller and Dow, with Dow to be the sub.

RICHMOND

Richmond are hopeful Dion Prestia (leg) and Jack Riewoldt (thumb) will return for Round 3, while coach Damien Hardwick has backed Dylan Grimes to return.

The Tigers suffered only one injury in the win over GWS, losing Thomson Dow to a leg injury.

Be surprised if Prestia is back this week.

May as well name a team each week so this week id would have liked em to go

FB:  Grimes - Tarrant - Rioli.  Prefer Stack or Mansell to Rioli but it wont happen
HB: Short -   Miller - Gibcus.  Prefer one of Stack or Mansell to Short but it won't happen.

C: Broad - Pickett - Ralphsmith. Have simply rolled Hugo and Broad up to accomodate the  inclusion of Miller and played Pickett in the guts.
R: Nankervis - Cotchin - Dow.  Can only pray Cotchin can maintain the same sort of output from last week. Dow did well and won clearances.

HF: Cumberland - Balta - Bolton. Cumberland instead of Castagna.
FF:  Edwards - Lynch - Parker. Kept Parker because he offers something different as far as size goes. Besides he did enough to keep his spot though id rather we play Sonsie.

Int: Soldo - RC-D - Baker - Graham. For me Baker and Graham are lucky.

Out McIntosh - Ross - Castagna - Aarts
INS RC-D - Grimes - Cumberland - ???? perhaps Sonsie.
